Ultralight bushcraft knife ESEE Izula

The ESEE Izula is a nice solution for an ultralight full tang knife.
The fulltang design makes it sturdy and able to do most woodworking tasks.
Even light batoning is possible if you need to be able to produce some firewood for woodstoves.

The knife is made of 1095HC Steel and protected with a powderoating, which is available in various colours.

Handle solutions

The knife will be delivered without a handlecover, but there is a few solutions you can choose from.
You could either go without a handlecover which would be the lightest solution, or you can use a handlecover which makes working with the knife a lot more comfortable.

The knife is delivered with a piece of cord that you can wrap around the handle. Personally I liked this solution and did go for a wrapping method I found on the internet and left the rest of the cord as an extension to the handle. That makes it a bit saver to work with and helps catching the knife in case it slips out of your hand.

The cord handle is also still a very light solution.
The second option are handle scales made of differend materials.
They would give you of course more control on the knife and make woodworking even more comfortable.

I like the cordhandle because it keeps the flat shape of the knife and will provide some emergency cordage if you need it.

If you got big hands you might want to check out the Izula II, it has a slightly longer handle and is easier to work with for some users.

Sheath

You can buy the ESEE Izula without a sheath and build your own (e.g. kydex) or get a bundle with sheet and beltclip.

The ESEE sheath fits the knife very well and since the set is so small I often tend to not even use a beltclip and just drop the knife with the sheath in one of my pockets and take it out when I need it.

There is also accessories available that can add a firesteel to the sheath.
